Key Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audit, review, and compilation engagements for clients in a variety of sectors and industries
  • Preparation of financial statements and related notes
  • Preparation of corporate and personal income tax returns
  • Performance of field work on various engagements
  • Opportunity for other special engagements as requested from time to time

Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Ideal candidate will possess 3 years relevant experience working in accounting or related field with an understanding of Canadian Accounting Standards and the Income Tax Act
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft platforms, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • Other software knowledge considered as an asset, especially CaseWare, TaxPrep, and CCH iFirm
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to develop strong and effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based setting

Bookkeeper

MacNeill Edmundson Professional Corporation is seeking a skilled bookkeeping professional to join our team.  This position will focus primarily on day-to-day bookkeeping support for a large client while also completing work for other clients.

Key Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Data entry
  • Processing payroll
  • Processing GST/HST returns
  • WSIB and EHT forms
  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Performing month end closings
  • Performing CAD/USD bank reconciliations
  • Posting journal entries
  • Maintaining and balancing general ledgers
  • Preparing financial reports
  • Completing invoices, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition

Your Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Diploma/certificate in bookkeeping or equivalent industry experience
  • Ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years relevant experience working in bookkeeping with complex clients
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft platforms, QuickBooks, and Sage
  • Other software knowledge is considered an asset, especially CaseWare, TaxPrep, and CCH iFirm
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to develop strong and effective working relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently or in a team-based setting
